Need computer, taking commissions

Thu Oct 23, 2008, 5:57 AM
So my hard drive space on my computer is near full, and there's not much of substance I can purge because most of the space it taken up by programs I need for school. At minimum, I need to track down a new, larger hard drive for my laptop, but I'm thinking that while I'm at it, I'd really prefer to just get a new computer. This one's a few years old and showing its age. We don't have the money for it in our budget, and my job money goes to paying groceries and that sort of stuff.

As such, I think I'm going to start taking commissions to pay for it. Additionally, I'm toying with the idea of taking cosplay commissions, so if you have something you want that's not too intense, pm me, and we'll talk. I have a lot of experience on the sewing machine, as well as skills needed for simple props. I will definitely consider doing a senshi cosplay...I've been wanting to undertake one of those anyway.

I will only take a few commissions at a time; more if everybody just wants sketches, as I'm not certain how much I can handle.

Prices and what you get

Mini Sketchbook sketches and lineart
These are the cheapest, because these are things I can discretely work on during class. As it's in my 4x6 sketchbook, I can't give you the original, however you will get a high res scan. Because of the size, I can only do half-body sketches or chibi/superdeformed at the most. Face-shots are fine. No color on these.

$1 will get you a sketch
$3 will get you lineart

I will draw guys or girls. I'm pretty good at differentiating body types, so don't hold back in that regard. One person for these only.

Traditional unbound art
I will send you the original artwork, as well as a scan. I can do guys, girls, and anthros at the listed price. Anything I need to look up reference images for (i.e. certain animals, cars, etc.) will be an extra price of likely $5 depending on what you want. Note me if you're interested. I won't draw hentai/yaoi; shounen/shoujo-ai is okay, so long as it's nothing explicit. Beyond that, nothing is off limits, so long as I can find a reference image. I can work on up to 11x17 for marker/pencil work, 9x12 for acrylic/watercolor.

Sketches
$3 base for letter (8.5 x 11) + $1 per extra figure + $1 for background
$5 base for legal (8.5 x 14) +$2 per extra figure + $2 for background
$7 base for ledger (11x17) + $3 per extra figure $3 for background

Lineart
$5 base for letter (8.5 x 11) + $2 per extra figure + $2 for background
$7 base for legal (8.5 x 14) + $3 per extra figure + $3 for background
$10 base for ledger (11x17) + $5 per extra figure + $5 for background

Color (marker, colored pencil, and/or pastel with acrylic highlights)
$10 base for letter + $5 per extra figure + $5/$10 for simple/complex background
$15 base for legal + $7 per extra figure + $7/$15 for simple/complex background
$20 base for ledger + $10 per extra figure + $10/$20 for simple/complex background

Paint (watercolor and/or acrylics)
$20 base up to 9x12 + $10 per extra figure + $10/$20 for simple/complex background

Digital art
Most expensive because I'm much more limited in how often I can work on them. Similar to the traditional, nothing is off limits except hentai, yaoi, or yuri, but there will be an extra cost if I need to look up reference images (mechs, cars, some animals, etc). You will receive a high-res scan.

Lineart--either pen lines or tablet traced (your pic)
$7 base + $5 per extra figure + $5/10 for simple background

Color
$30 base + $10 per extra figure + $15/$30

EDIT: Dude...it takes me nearly 2 weeks to realize that my copy-paste of this from a message board didn't translate my formatting? *face palm* Oh, and any new commissions will be started next week at the earliest. I need to stop wasting time online and get to cramming for the EIT. >.< Stupid licensing exams.

Maybe I should get a Twitter for stuff like this, but anyway--this episode of Stargate I'm watching should have just been titled "SG-1 goes to HELL"
