Figure I should change my journal from something school related.

School's out, and I'm not doing summer school this year. My husband's up in Salinas for an internship, so I of course came with him. I'm trying to find a job (WHY must the economy suck), but I've got other things to occupy myself in the meantime. I couldn't bring all my hobbies with me, so the cosplay tools and materials ended up getting left behind in favor of my more portable art supplies. I didn't bring all my markers, just a few, but I did bring my pencils, rapidograph pens, and my (husband's >.> ) tablet.

So expect more artwork and actually updating from me over the summer! You've probably seen my most recent addition which I'm really proud of; I haven't done an intense (anime) CG in FOREVER. Just a few graphics (t-shirt and school stuff) and an architectural rendering. It's kinda sad though how much it screams me (elements: Sailor Moon meets Gankutsuou styling with architectural renderings and uber-shoujo-sparkleyness). *cough* Well, at least the Minna folks who watch me would understand that it's probably something only I'd come up with.

On that note, my entry got 5th in the contest. No prizes, but I'm glad that people actually see my page again. Although it does bug me that it only proves that people only watch me for my Sailor Moon art. >> But hey--I'm less than 20 favorites away from replacing that edit that's currently my most favorited! (It also bugs me that my most favorited items are primarily edits. >.> )

Anyway, projects I'm working on and potential projects

So much for the superhero thing; I'm idea-ed out at the moment.

Another project I'm toying with working on, although I need to talk to my pastor and see if he still wants me to do it. I'm Seventh-day Adventist, and we tend to take a lot of the Revelation stuff a lot more seriously than most Christian denominations. There's a lot of art of some of the things described, but it's all pretty cheesy. My pastor has been talking of commissioning me to draw some of the beasts and angels, but doing so in an anime style, kinda as a way of updating it and as a way of reaching out more to today's culture. It'd be a challenge, and I'd have to work on more of an edgy-shounen look than my usual OMGSPARKLE!Shoujo, but I'm certainly considering it. Especially if I don't find a job.

I'd like to do some reference sheets for some of my various OC's.

RIGHT! I almost forgot this one: A banner design for a new club banner (yeah, not like you didn't want to see MORE Minna art from me :-P ) And not like I need to be working with file sizes even LARGER, now I get to work on something where the final size is 3 feet by 6 feet.

Commissions? (prices -> [link] , can't do painting/marker ones because no supplies) *sparkle eyes* Please? Broke unemployed college student? Who wants money to do a Pururin costume for Halloween? *watches all the Minna folks leave* T.T
